CDL Hazmat Tanker Driver

The CDL Hazmat Tanker Driver will drive a tractor-trailer combination capacity up to 80,000 GVW, to transport and deliver hazardous and non-hazardous materials in bulk or packaged form. You will be required to load and unload tanker, box truck, or flatbed. This position will be based out of New Philadelphia, Ohio but will make deliveries to customers in the Northeast, Midwest and Southeast US regions.                

As the CDL Hazmat Tanker Driver, you will:

·         Support all Environmental, Health, and Safety programs, policies, and regulations

·         Follow all applicable state and federal DOT regulations and appropriate safety procedures when transporting hazardous materials

·         Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles; be responsible for scheduling both preventative and unplanned maintenance

·         Work with scheduler, customer sites, inventory planners and sales reps to obtain delivery instructions and schedule unloading

·         Secure cargo for transport, using straps, blocks, chain, binders, and/or covers; may be required to load and unload trucks, or help others with loading, unloading and trailer clean outs

·         Deliver to all SUEZ WTS customers in the Northeast, Midwest and Southeast US regions including, but not limited to: Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland, Massachusetts, Maine, North Carolina, South Carolina, Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Georgia, Washington D.C.

·         This list is not all-inclusive and may include other duties as assigned and necessary for the operation of the business.

Core Qualifications:

·         High School Diploma / GED

·         Minimum of 5 years of experience with class A CDL, hazardous materials transportation and driving a tractor-trailer combination

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

·         Ability and willingness to possess and maintain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements

·         Ability and willingness to travel up to 95% of the time, as required

·         Ability and willingness to travel overnights, as required

·         Ability and willingness to possess and maintain a valid TWIC

·         Ability and willingness to be part of the Department of Homeland Security’s Personnel Surety Program 

Desired characteristics:

·         Associate Degree (2-year college or technical school)

·         Experience with electronic logs preferably Peoplenet 

·         All weather driving experience (heat, snow, ice, hail, sleet, rain, fog) 

·         Experience with Freightliner or Kenworth tractor equipment

·         Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

·         Attention to detail and strong math skills 

·         Strong computer skills 

·         Team player, individual thinker, self-starter with an ability to work independently 

·         Fork lift certification
